Following an unexpectedly early finish to the RORC Myth of Malham Offshore race, Fidessa-fastwave made a late entry into the Royal Southern YC summer regatta for Sunday 13th June.

Sailing against Corel 45s, Ker 11.3, J-133 and various other yachts, Fidessa-fastwave gained her first victories with 2 x line honours and 2 x 1st places. The makeshift crew comprised Chris B on tactics, Tim driving, Jennie in pit and the Wolf front team supported by ex-RB crew in the middle.

The first race, held in a weak gradient wind of 5-7kn saw a winning margin of 3 minutes, while the second race, held in a thermally enhanced increasing wind, saw a narrow winning margin of just 10 seconds.

Fidessa-fastwave now undergoes more preparation in advance of the lengthy trip to Ireland for the 720 mile BMW Round Ireland Race (26th June).
